Tony Blair: Even Trotsky thinks Corbyn is too left-wing

Tony Blair has waded into the Labour leadership debate by claiming that Leon Trotsky told him that he thinks Jeremy Corbyn is a dangerous left-wing radical.

Speaking at some event or other in London, the former Labour Prime Minister said, “It isn’t just me that thinks Jeremy Corbyn is a dangerous left-wing ideologue hell-bent on destroying the lives of people in this country by being committed to extreme causes like human rights and eradicating child poverty. I was down my local the other night with Leon Trotsky and a few other members of the old school left. Even they think he’s a bit too radical. Come on guys, if Trotsky thinks Corbyn is too extreme and bad for the Labour Party, then you need to be asking yourself some serious questions about why you’re planning on electing him leader.”

It wasn’t possible for audience members to question the validity of Blair’s claims as there was blanket ban on all questions relating to Leon Trotsky.
